Our Story

Meet Doc Seaweed

Doc Seaweed started as a summer money problem. One of my best friends and I were both 18 and certified scuba divers with plenty of free time and not much money, trying to figure out how to turn diving into dollars.

His dad — an actual doctor — looked at all the weed-choked piers around Lake Geneva and had a simple diagnosis: nobody wants to swim in that, and nobody local was offering to fix it. So the two of us suited up, got underwater, and started hand-cutting weeds at the root instead of just skimming what showed above the surface. The name Doc Seaweed stuck ever since.

That first summer job turned into a real business. My friend's since moved to Florida — he still comes back up to help out now and then — but the underwater, hands-on approach never changed. About five years ago, I started supplying and installing LakeMat and MuckMat barriers too, for customers who wanted their swim area weed-free for good, not just for the season.

We serve Lake Geneva, Wisconsin exclusively — because staying local means every pier gets treated like it's the only one on the schedule that day.

"Every pier's different. I treat yours like it's my own." — Doc Seaweed
